It’s Complicated!

creativity_routine1

I have a complicated relationship with routine.

I am fighting with my routine almost every other day and it’s just not working out. For the rest of the world, we have immense love and are compatible but only we know how much of this is true.

In relationships, you have to give and take. And here there are no efforts being made by either of us. So things are going wrong. I am too lazy for it and my routine is just not ready to understand and support me.

If I go few months back, when I first got to know of my present routine, I was very excited and let me tell you – it was Love @ first sight. Who would not want to sit idle and do absolutely nothing at home? Things seemed to be very rosy then and now they are pricking me every second.

Time flies faster when you have a routine, so if you want your life to feel shorter, by all means fill it with routine. So, I am planning a break up with my routine, and try to vary what I do. I don’t intend to follow a routine, rather fill my day with different activities and keep shuffling them every now and then.

On the other hand, I have a grudging respect for routine, and I believe there are good reasons why we so often seem to prefer it, and why the entire set of mother’s of this world endorse them. There are some things which should be a matter of daily routine and I personally don’t want any adventure in those categories, for example – my meals. They should remain a significant part of my routine. :P

Embracing routine is the easier part, and I am resisting myself from falling into it.

Stepping outside our comfort zones is never easy.

The lure of routine is difficult to resist but I have adopted some brilliant ideas to break free from routine. However I still fear falling down the slippery slope of routine.

I liked the title a lot. Yes, routine is something we cannot live with or live without. Just like relationships :D Remember the song with or without you?

having said that, I am glad started blogging. Keep up at it, I am sure one day you can realise how fulfilling it is!

    very true sentence..
to create something new…you can’t bound yourself to some daily routine…

    routine ruins creativity….
